Hi!

I want to install Mac OS X on an external USB-Drive for my ThinkPad T41p. I already tried JaS 10.4.8 and Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4 r3.

Unfortunately the installer always freezes after copying the files to the USB-Drive while "Writing package receipt" or in the log "Assembling receipt".

I also tried a diffrend HDD, but same problem.

I hope someone can help me.

Cheers,

Christian

Can't imagine what you must be feeling, but I am pretty sure it's not happy.

Did you burn them on 1 type/brand of DVD-Rs? There are known issues of certain brands of discs not working on certain drives. Instead of buying, you can try to swap one with a friend.

Any of your friends trying to get OS X on a non Apple machine? Want to ask them to use your disc and see if same problem occurs. This will help rule out the issue being your drive or the disc.

Just thought of this... this might be a long shot and I'm not sure if it's possible, but i'm just throwing ideas here. Get someone who has the same machine as you who has a working OS X, and create an image of their disc via Ghost or some other utility and torrent it.

Have you checked around at http://forum.thinkpads.com/index.php, as they have a forum called "OS-X on a ThinkPad". I know i've read people with T41p running OS X.
