The M.A.R.T.
Having a Compaq Presario R3000 laptop, AMD 3400+ with 1 GB of ram and Nvidia 440go 64MB running OSX on an external USB (which is running fine with ALL hardware supported including Airport/Wifi etc.), the only thing that isn't doing fully its work is... The GPU, 440go only 1024 x 768 resolution without hardware acceleration. ATI has Katana software to get the job done on 1200 x 800, is there already a fix for the Nvidia GPU's? I used: 10.4.8 JAS, no VM, just normal install (see the topic with R3000 in the title). Who might be able to share some light on the GPU/resolution? The M.A.R.T.
Now there is this Macvidia project: http://www.macvidia.com But the site is down. If I remember it right, 10.4.8 from JAS also installs some driver of Macvidia, am I right? But is it the newest one or are there modifications possible to get a 440go laptop GPU to output 1200 x 800 resolution? I found this site: http://wiki.qays.org/doku.php?id=osx86:ins...acvidia_drivers Has someone used that? I will be buying an extra HDD to clone my OSX USB install to not {censored} up any stuff. Maybe someone can confirm that they used some of this stuff and succeed... Or didn't...
