steffensen
So, ive tried getting Natit to work with my GeForce 7100GS, and as it seems people have made it to work, why shouldnt i? Ive tried it several times, but it just freezes when i try to boot into OS X after the Natit install. What am i missing here? My devID is: Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x016a Revision ID: 0x00a1 So the devID code i should replace in the kexts are: 0x016a10de - right? Im following the guide of spanakorizo but this still happens. I have read that removing the AGPGart.kext could make it work, tried that, but still get the freeze. Help? winapenny
I ran into a similar fate as you do, but I didn't get freeze. See it here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry475442 What installation DVD did you used? What is the error messages? Any screen shot? Let's share and may be we could get it work together! Penny
steffensen
I am using Kalyway 10.4.10. This install have all the video kexts in the installer, but i choose to do this afterwards instead, as i cant even boot into OS X with having them installed with the OS. Dont get any error msg as far as i can see, what happens is that first during the bootup my screen goes black, and then after a few seconds it go blue, and there it stops. What im not sure about, is whether i have combined my devID correctly or not, after searching the forum for 3 days, i still cant really understand where and how i get my devID together. But as far as i can see, ive got it right i think? So if its not the devID, i cant imagine what could cause this, as i pretty much know my video card should work. winapenny
I believe the format (0x016a10de) is absolutely correct. Which particular driver package did you selected to install? What did you experienced if you don't edit the kext? And did you installed on an Intel or AMD box? BTW, it seems the link you refered to (spanakorizo) doesn't exist anymore. Would you please double check? Give me the updated link and let me review together.
steffensen
Oh i see, heres the link to the full thread, just browse down a few posts. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34244 Im using a P5B with a Intel Core2Duo E6600. During the install i didnt choose any driver package really, didnt need to. Only the Realtek and SATA support packages. If i dont edit the kexts i can log in fine, but then my gfx card isnt supported, and i cant change resolutions, no QE/CI, or install various programs, like Logic 8 for instance. Dont remember why, only know that i have to fix my gfx card.
winapenny
OK after I downloaded spanakorizo's files provided here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=251326 I finally get QE/CI running for my Foxconn GF 7100GS!! You need to replace all kexts or bundles within the RAR file provided by spanakorizo. Afterall of course we need to do the kexts editing (accordingly to spanakorizo, GeForce.kext, NVDAResman.kext and NVDANV40Hal.kext). I fixed the permissions and reboot, very strangely my screen shows only 1/4 of the whole deskop, and the resolution is distorted (very wired). Luckily I can managed to get to System Preferences -> Display. Then I click on the "Detect Display" button (very difficult as I couldn't see the mouse cursor), then it turns to a right resolution! It even correctly determine my monitor as "ComeMon L17AS"! One last thing: Natit.kext is no use for my machine. It didn't load and actually no need to load. Of course I didn't install AGPGart.kext as I have a PCIe card. Hope you figure your card out very soon. If you want further help please take some screen shots for closer examination.
