I have an Asus G1s (specs at end) -

When I try to boot from the JaS 10.4.8 DVD or the Uphuck 10.4.9 DVD (Intel) the boot only gets so far and then causes a system reboot - this happens with either.

If I get in and type "cpus=1 -x -v" then I can get JaS to load and install on my external USB drive without a problem. The Uphuck disk will get as far as the Copyright and then the line "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster 10 buffer headers" and lock!

Alright, so I install the JaS and all goes fine. However, when booting from the external USB drive, the system once again goes into the "endless loop" of rebooting. So I break in and (this is with the JaS install) type in "cpus=1 -x -v". Now what happens? It begins to load and gets as far as the Copyright and the line "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster 10 buffer headers" and locks! HARD!

It appears that the Darwin loader is doing something strange, but I have no way to diagnose it. Can anyone provide any help at all? This is driving me insane!

[i am also downloading the Kalyway build now to try that as well - just in case]

seems that it could be an number of things first go in to the bios an wel turn everyting off?you dont nead. (power mangement you do nead) acpi the set the sata to ich8 and well 10.4.10 support way more new hardware .you will have to get that sata controller to work to Edit AppleAzaliaController.kext for matching ICH8 HDA interface proper ID:in therminal sudo -ssudo vi /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAzaliaController.kext/Contents/Info.plist<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>change the string to:<string>0x284b8086</string> put your device number between the strings

I have the same problem here.

Using the JAS 10.4.8 get into Darwin i get the first 5 (or 4) lines then i get a reboot.

I tried like ALL osx86 versions and all do the same thing.

Asrock1333-667 (G945 chip)

E4300

Tried usb keyboard and mouse. ps2 keyboard and mouse.

Tried a 1950Pro, pci ati rage 128 mac version, s3trio.

both hd (master, and dvd (slave) on the same IDE cable using the ic7

Tried all the dvd's on my other pc and they boot fine just hangs on the "unable root disk" stuff goz its a jmicron controller.

P5K with p35 on SATA but hey thats normal ;)

Just tried that cpus=1 function and now i get the same as what u had lols but nog i get a nice apple logo... pfft.

Okey booted with cpus=1 -x -v

Installed it after reboot i get cpu=0 somthing error no driver for ACPI and it asks for reboot.

i think this mobo or the bios is not 100% acpi compatible or somthing, i keep trying ;)

on my p5k it finds all my 4 3.2ghz cores of my x3220 :( works.

Same "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster 10 buffer headers" thing here!

I can install ONLY JaS 10.4.8 with cpus=1 -x -v but after installation, it locks up at the "using 4096..." line. So when i reboot with the install DVD and DELETE the Extensions folder from the HDD and OVERWRITE the Extensions.mkext from the DVD's one, the system starts from the HD with cpus=1 -x -v.

I tried to extract the "good", booting mkext with mkextunpack to the Extensions folder. Then reboot and it locks up at that damned line.

So, I tried to repack the Extensions folder in the mkext, than I deleted the Extensions folder. And it starts with cpus=1 -x -v! With the same kexts!

So: in mkext format, the SAME KEXTS are working but in extracted format not! Now this is weird!

I tried 7 "distributions" from OSX86. I can even start install only with JaS..
