DisabledTrucker
If your trying to find out if your AMD processor supports certain functions such as the SSE2/3, a simple trip to AMD's compare site will give you that information as well as other technical information on your processor. (This is specifically for AMD processors only!) Use this link to go straight to the desktop processors for US English customers: AMD's Desktop Processors (US English) Use this link to be able to select your country and language: AMD's Compare site (Main) Once you've found your processor, click on "view detail" then click on "Product Page" under "Product Information" on the right hand side of the page, then when you get to that page, click on "Product Brief" under "Product Information" again, it should tell you everything else you're needing to know in it. Such as with my processor, AMD 64 3700+ San Diego states AMD64 technology which doubles the number of processor registers and dramatically increases the system memory addressability Enhanced multimedia instructions support including 3DNow! Professional technology and SSE2/3 With up to a 2000 MHz system bus using HyperTransport technology with up to 14.4 GB/sec total processor-to-system bandwidth An integrated memory controller with peak memory bandwidth of up to 6.4 GB/sec, supporting PC3200, PC2700, PC2100, or PC1600 DDR SDRAM Native execution of 32-bit software, allowing today’s PC software to provide leading-edge performance while enabling a seamless migration to 64-bit software which is a snippet of what it states in it's brief. I hope all this helps you all in figuring out what your processor is capable of even without the use of CPUid.
