Yes i have the original PCI version, as i wouldnt trust audio thru USB.

I have installed the audiophile OS X driver, and it installs fine, but OS X cant find my PCI card it seems.

From reading the forum this is a old issue, and im just curious if there were any success on the matter.

Perhaps im forced to use the USB version after all... wich i really cant afford to atm.

as long as you are using a soundcard with only 2 IO´s, usb shouldn´t be a problem.

multichannel interfaces with usb could be a mess with older hardware.

for multichannel I would prefer firewire. i´ve read that some rme pci-e are working on hackintosh as well.

Hi all!

I have an Audiophile 2496 PCI card, it never worked under Tiger. In M-AUDIO website there are drivers for PPC only. They install good, but in the control panel there is no audio card. :P

Has anyone hacked/rewrite these drivers for Intel?

Hello,

What i dont understand is that other pci devices seem to work (correct me if i'm mistaken) and there are drivers on the M-Audio site (PPC and non-PPC) so the non PPC should work, but it doesn't. What are the non-PPC drivers for then? There is no PCIe Audiophile 2496 so it must be for the PCI version. But if the PCI-bus is working in osx then why doesn't it work? Can someone enlighten us?

To clear up confusion, the drivers on M-audios site for 24/96 pci ARE ppc ONLY. They do NOT make drivers for intel macs for 24/96. The reason is that the Intel macs have PCIe slots, only ppc macs have PCI slots. To make drivers for hackintoshes supports, well, crime, in sorts. Your options? Ebay.
