volospin
Hi, I am looking for a G965 class microATX motherboard for installation of 10.4.10 Or actually, the chipsets that makes it works. I remember seeing people uses Asrock motherboard but I am looking for more functions like the Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H or even G33 class. Anybody have any suggestions? empire29
FYI - I purchased a Foxconn G9657MA-8EKRS2H to install Leopard on for a HTPC box, and had no success. I tried the following install methods: 1) 10.5.0 ToH RC2 - Would not boot into GUI installer 2) iAKOTS - Would not boot into GUI installer 3) Kalyway 10.5.1 DVD - Booted into GUI installer, was able to partition drives and begin the installation. during the installation process itself (copy filed, etc) the installer would freeze. I verified the DVD and have been able to install from the same DVD on a GA-P35-DS4. I tried various BIOS setting (ACHI/IDE) changing the SATA ports my drives were connected to, etc. to no avail. Overall a very disappointing. I am building a HTPC box and need Digital Audio Out, and wanted to the option to use Optical or Digi-coax (receiver has limited inputs and i dont know the restrictions of future components (ie. STB, HD/Bluray DVD players, etc). I am RMA'ing my G9657MA-8EKRS2H and ordered a Asus P5K-VM as it seems to work well, and it atleast has Digi-Coax out.
