i put the dvd in my dvd-rom and restarted my computer

entered the BIOS and changed the first boot to my dvd

then i saw a screen Darwin boot

Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132
2047MB memory
VESA v3.0 256MB (NVIDIA)

After that some lines with Loading Darwin/x86, kernel mach_kernel, HFS+

And after those lines i get en error screen

. . (my emphasis): AFAIK the "4000+" runs at 2.1GHz: if so, try running your CPU at its default speed.

. . right, my mistake :( (I haven't bought any AMD CPUs since running a string of dual-socket K8 boxes): your error screen appears to shows one of the cores being disabled.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to try a more recent AMD-specific DVD like one of the 'Tubgirl' releases [there is one for 10.4.10] or Uphuck's 10.4.9 "1.4a" release.
