Karakino
Hi guys... I was previously thinking of getting an intel x38 chipset motherboard (like the P5E3 Deluxe), but then visiting the various sections of this forum i noticed that more than 1 people doesn't think that Apple will use that architecture in future products so i decided to upgrade to a P35 chip and i saw that is far more compatible. I now have this configuration in mind: Processor: Intel Q6600 --- to be ovbiously overclocked cause i don't want to spend 300 eu's more like the 500 and more of the q6700, wich can be easily reached in velocity with the overclock i think... Motherboard: Asus P5K3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP --- much better because i can still use my three modules of ddr2 corsair xms2 for now (2x512MB) (2x1GB) every component of it, audio, lan, sata, e-sata etc... Memory: already got it --- as stated above Graphic Card: Asus EN8800 GTX --- not very well supported now but i still can use it in my Win{censored} partition for games Other minor things - ASUS PhysX P1 (to be used with my other Win{censored} partition --- maybe in osx86 too??) - Atheros AR5008 XSPAN 11N for 802.11n (i need to know if there is a PCI card adaptor that can receive this thing --- i read in many places that the new macbooks got this inside) I don't think i need more things to be more compatible... Tell me what u think of every component i mentioned... I need every advice i can get. Thank u guys! You are always the best ^^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66181-my-future-hackintosh-configuration/ Share on other sites
ekwipt
Apple most probably wont use P35 either. They haven't used 775 as well but the badaxe2 is one of the most stable motherboards out there. I'd say the X38 boards will end up being used but not the same as the desktops X38s. Have you seen the pictures of these http://images.vnu.net/gb/inquirer/news/200...il-multigpu.jpg Maybe the MACPRO will have something similar, why can't MACPROS and the Leopard OSX have it's own version of Crossfire and SLI? If you are making a system now i'd say either go with a Badaxe2 or Gigabyte P35 DQ6 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66181-my-future-hackintosh-configuration/#findComment-469220 Share on other sites

Synaesthesia
Looks like a sweet setup. The Asus motherboard is a good choice. I hope you get full qe/ci out of your 8800, like some other ppl have.
