MisterC
I can not get OS X to boot after I do the install. It starts to boot, and I can get a black screen with lots of white type. It starts to complain about all of the networking application respawning too quickly. Then the system hangs at starting the loginwindow app. I am using Tubgirl 10.4.10 AMD SSE3 "Test 1" and have found a blog for v2000 owners at marc88.blogspot.com/2007/03/osx86-install-guide-for-x200-users.html. Is there another post or blog that has more information? Booting the install dvd directly didn't work. So I installed the OS via VMware Server to the first partition of the physical harddrive. Installed the callisto 003 patch and the ati ide patch. What am I a missing? I've also tried to install the OS to a usb drive but the installer doesn't recognize the drive. The installation will boot with in VMWare. But that is it. Here are the specs Compaq Presario v2000z cto AMD Turion 64 ML-37 2 ghz video ati x200m device id 5955 south bridge ati 400 or 450 ide harddrive broadcom 4318 wireless Sound yes - I'll worry about that when the rest works Network - Realtek something Those that are successfully running 10.4.10 on a system simillar to mine could you help me out? Tell me what I haven't done correctly and what I should do? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=57449 Thanks for your help. --MrC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65939-questions-with-install-on-a-compaq-v2000z/ Share on other sites
skyhighmac
Can you get your camera out and take a pic of what the boot sequence says? MisterC
Actually, at this moment, I can't. I am reinstalling over the partition, yet again. If, and I am sure it will still happen, the problem reoccurs, I'll be happy to post some picts. --MrC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65939-questions-with-install-on-a-compaq-v2000z/#findComment-467448 Share on other sites
