booya
Okay, I just had this idea on how to at least get my FinePoint (note: only FinePoint, for Wacom users, you're already set to go here) digitizer to work in my parallels XP. I've got this OEM application (just unzip the file instead of running it, the extracted application in question is setupcom.exe) that apparently allows the digitizer to be used through its native serial interface. That means that I can use the serial port enabling hack in OSX, together with SerialClient from eudyptes and Parallel's serial emulator, to forward the tablet's serial data to the OEM application to be used, easy! However, I'm currently stuck at the installation of the digitizer step. After I've set up the serial port and forwarded it (I've checked with HyperTerminal that the data coming in is correct), I ran the application. After selecting the correct COM port and pressing OK, I'm presented with this error: "An error has occured during the setup process. (0170/259)" Not very helpful, there seems to be an error number though. Searching on Google doesn't help, emailing FinePoint doesn't help either as their support email address bounced. So now I'm stuck with this error, so near, yet so far... So now I'm asking if anyone can get this working or knows what this error means, or maybe its something wrong with my XP install, so please try it out! And for those who might ask, yes, my tablet is a Gateway CX2620, with built in digitizer FinePoint FPI2004, so it should work, as the application was intended for it in the first place.
