aRnonymous
ok i got a Dell inspiron 8200 SSE 2 i installed 10.4.6 and was trying to get a wifi working... i have a belking 54g F5d7011 which based on searches here seems impossible to get working and another one somekind of no-brand but based on a RT2500 chipset which should be easy to install though both are not working for me and i don't even get they lights to turn on... also my builtin ethernet port is not working it does show up in the hardware profile but i can't see it as an option in any of the networking setup things plus usually its a matter of plug&play with ethernet. now i was wondering if maybe the entire pcmcia controller is not recognised? is there anyway i can check that? and if it is can i get a listing of all hardware so i can see if it recognizes that the Wifi cards have been inserted? 2nd problem is booting... i got 2 partitions first with os x second with winxp but now the os x parition won't boot if i don't have the OS x install cd in the drive and let the seconds pass. so somehow my bootloader on the partition is no good? and when i tried to get it boot while the winxp partition is set to boot i copied the chain0 file added the line in boot.ini and when i hit it at boot i just get the xp boot menu again. what am i doing wrong Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65710-dell-inspiron-8200-trouble-boot-and-pcmcia/ Share on other sites
