I've got Leopard 9A528d installed on my Macbook Pro. Whenever I close the lid and come back later, Leopard does not wake from sleep when I open the laptop display, even if I press the power button. THe only thing I can do is hold power and restart. This laptop has a dual boot between Leopard and Tiger but I haven't experienced this problem at all in Tiger.

I did a reset of the PRAM but it didn't make a difference.

This happens whether the laptop is plugged in or not.

When I open the laptop, I can sometimes hear the laptop cpu fan spinning but the apple logo on the back of the display isnt light up

I haven't really installed anything special as far as software goes. The only program i've installed is Parallels but I don't think its the source because its not running when this happens and it happened before I installed parallels.

I created a 2nd username, rebooted and logged in with the 2nd user and ran into the same problem.

My power management settings are like this:

Settings for Power Adapter:

under Sleep:

"Put Computer to sleep when it is inactive for": Never

"Put the display to sleep when the computer is inactive for": 4th notch (11.5 minutes)

Put Hard Disk to sleep when possible: unchecked

under Options

Everything except restart automatically after a power failure is checked

Settings for Battery:

under Sleep:

"Put Computer to sleep when it is inactive for": 15 Minutes

"Put the display to sleep when the computer is inactive for": 15 Minutes

Put Hard Disk to sleep when possible: checked

under Options

All 3 options are checked

Can someone please suggest what I can do to fix this ?

This issue is driving me crazy and I love leopard except for this serious problem which

might make me switch back to Tiger.
