Hi

I have been trying to install mac os x86 10.4.9 using

uphuck universal 1.3

uphuck 1.4i r3

both with the same outcome apple logo followed by a restart of the laptop.

I have updated the bios to the latest version and now i am able to set the drive to a compatible mode.. and this has not made any difference.

Tried also with following parameters

-x -v

cpus=1 -x -v

This just hangs with "Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"

my hardware info is as follows:

intel core 2 duo

chipset GM965

Southbridge ICH8-ME

sata drive

2gb ram

atheros wireless

graphics intel gma x3100

I have installed using the universal version on my pc no problems.. and also on amilo pro v3405 using the intel version - laptop i dont have anymore

I would appreciate it if anyone can help me.

Many thanks.

I have exactly the same problem on an ASUS F3SC notebook. That one has ICH8 also.

I've tried JaS 10.4.8

and Kalyway 10.4.10.

JaS install was fine with cpus=1 -x -v but booting hangs up at the same line in the topic.

"Using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"

-x flag does not work when booting from hdd. :(

Now I'm downloading uphuck 1.4 r2 and r3. I hope they will be okay!!

EDIT: r2 stucks at the same line.

The problem is the bios, and the acpi.

The only way to boot is:

- boot option -x -v cpus=1

- moving off EXTENSIONS dir during boot

- moving back EXTENSIONS dir after boot, before loading loginWindow

If the bootloader can't find EXTENSIONS dir it will load the cached mkext and it boots,

but WindowServer needs real EXTENSIONS dir to work.

So, you have to patch the /etc/rc script to move off and back that dir (renaming).

BTW:

GeForce8400/8600 working only in vesa-mode

Wireless 4965 not working

GLan attansic L1 not working

CardReader not working

Battery not working

Sound working only out on speaker

Does anyone have a good step by step for doing this in Windows XP? Thanks!
