silvercool
Ok, my hackintosh works fine but after a while watching videos in youtube gives me a Kernel panic , everything seems to work fine, but I still get kernel panics, sometimes when I'm about to send a file using Adium I get the kernel panic, or when Im using Azureus 3.0 (which is the grey screen telling me to turn off or reboot). I have QE, video acceleration CI Im using osx86 10.4.8 I want to know exactly what's causing these kernel panics and how to fix this, rather than formatting and installing everything again please any help would be appreciated :censored2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65386-having-kernel-panics-from-time-to-time-and-how-to-fix-this/ Share on other sites
dmy
Today will be your luckyday , i was alone when i asked this question a lot of times, and everytime i checked my topic, i see no answer, well here it is, as i figured the answer after completely changing my hardware, you have a network problem, and unfortunatly you fall on the same trap that a lot of people did before, installing neo's rtl1xxx installer that contains a buggy version of the network drivers, you can download the latest version here 1.04 https://sourceforge.net/projects/realtekr1000/ the debug version of RealtekR1000.kext worked fine for me, no more random restart screen, after replacing your old kext, don't forget to do in terminal : sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions sudo kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions repair permissions, reboot. Also you might need to add your network card ID values inside the Info.plist, for example my card is a dlink dge528t, i just had to add this value 0x43001186 below the line <key>IOPCIMatch</key> Hope this fix your problem. dmy
You will not touch your IONetworkingFamily.kext, you just go and copy the values inside your old RealtekR1000.kext/info.plist, the line below IOPCIMATCH, and keep these values, and paste them on the new RealtekR1000.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65386-having-kernel-panics-from-time-to-time-and-how-to-fix-this/#findComment-463122 Share on other sites

Dr. C
I expect you mean the RTL1xxx_1.02.pkg, made by damones and neopheus that I have been using? On my Asrock 1333 DVI-Board (Core2Duo 4300), the mentioned 1.02 driver was the source of the seemingly random kernel panics! Uninstalled it, installed the latest driver wich is mentioned above, and no more kernel panics. I installed JaS 10.4.8, did the koolkal 10.4.10 update, no problems at all. No editing of any plist was needed, ethernet is recognized as onboard ethernet.
