zoomie
I had a momentary power outage in my home, thus shutting down my hackintosh. After restarting, I'm unable to login to the account I was using prior to the power outage. When I attempt to login, the only thing that happens is the finder menu bar goes into a loop of flashing on and off. If I hit Cmd-Opt-Esc, I can return to the login screen. I am able to log in with a different account though. Any ideas? Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention, booting in safe mode results in the same thing, but the menu bar just flashes faster. I also tried repairing permissions and repairing the drive with Disk Utility Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65133-corrupted-login/ Share on other sites
zoomie
Ok...after spending hours browsing several support forums, I found the solution at Apple's own official discussion forums. I simply deleted the /Library/Caches directory and rebooted the computer. I'm tired now...good thing I'm self employed and can skip work today. I'm off to bed after my all nighter Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65133-corrupted-login/#findComment-461475 Share on other sites
