is there ANY way to get a working osx86 on an ide drive using the asus p5b mobo (with the jmicron controller)? from what i've seen there seems to be a patch that allows installing from an ide dvd drive but havent had much luck searching for info regarding installing to/booting from an ide P-ATA drive.

any info would be greatly apreciated

thanks

shipping that to where i'm at would probably get me close to buying a new small sata drive:)

anyways what i want to know is if installing and using osx can be done from an P-ATA ide drive hookeup to a asus p5b's jmicron controller.

thanks for the sugestion though.

jmicron controller it does not work. you sould use the intel controller.

its way faster 2 bye the way. second not all ide sata convertors work. use the searth functoin.

there is also a patch you will nead to use te realy make them runs

you realy sould check out the asus P5B theats in the hardware section

there qieute lengtye with links to the stuff you realy want to know duh

only the jmicron controller supports P-ATA. i cant think of a way to use the intel one (i've said there's no practical way to get an adapter).

oh and i did search, as i've said in the 1st post. also the p5b thread had no answer.
