bearcat2000
Hey guys, I have back to my mac running on 2 machines (2 imacs) at work (using a linksys router) and also 2 machines running at home (iMac/Mac Pro) using a Airport Extreme Base Station (n). All of them are connected to .mac using the same account, but none of the homes are bringing up the works, and vice versa. Anyone have any similar experiences with this. Surely it will work with computers using different routers, or do I need to get an airport extreme for work for it to work? Thanks in advance. Spikeman
Perhaps your router is blocking the connection somehow? Could be something to do with the inbuilt firewall on either of the 2 routers. Check the settings, and allow the ports that Back To My Mac uses. bearcat2000
Well, I checked the linksys here at work and the firewall was already disabled, so that shouldn't be an issue. The big question also is what ports does it use. I know how to port forward on the Airport Extreme base station, but if I remember right, you can only open one port for a single computer. ie, can't open 5001 on 192.168.1.200 and 192.168.1.201. It won't let you do it twice for another computer. I guess we may just have to wait until it's released so there is some support. Anyone else? wisequark
Back to my Mac works over an SSL VPN so you shouldn't need to do any port forwarding. I think it's just one of those features that won't work right until release day.
