AlaskanWild
Hi. I am hoping someone may be able to help me with a first time install of 10.4.10 on a PC. I am using TubGirl's AMD SSE3 version burned from disk utility on a MacBook. The system specs of the PC I am trying to install to are: Shuttle SK22G2B XPC box Motherboard: Shuttle FX22V10 Chipset: VIA K8M890CE Southbridge: VIA VT8237 Video: Onboard DeltaChrome 128 bit Core: Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Windsor AM2 socket w/SSE3 HDD: Seagate 250 GB SATA Memory: 2 GB Kingston 240-pin When I boot from CD, the initial install screen come up fine. I load Darwin, press F8 for options, and select "-v" to see what is going on. Everything seems to go fine until I get the following lines: "AppleVIAATADriver: VIA 8237 SATA (CMD 8xfe00, CIR 8xfd00, IRQ 20, BM 8xfa00) IOATAController device blocking bus AppleVIAATADriver: VIA 8237 SATA (CMD 8xfe00, CIR 8xfd00, IRQ 20, BM 8xfa00)" Then the system just hangs "waiting on device". Does anyone have a suggestion on how (or if) I can get this to work? I've really just had it with XP/Vista and want to run OSX natively on my desktop. Thanks! DylanC
I got that error too. Is your HDD set as primary? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64679-10410-install/#findComment-458076 Share on other sites

AlaskanWild
I don't even have an IDE controller in my box. The system is SATA through and through. Can I install to a USB drive and them pop that into the box?
