Artmuzz
Hi, I am having problems opening .dmg files on OSX86. When I try to open, nothing happens then I get a box saying that "file could not be mount as it is not configured" Please help. Artmuzz
I know what system I am using.......... PENTIUM 4 - 2.4 Ghz. MMX, SSE, SSE2 MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE GA-8STXCFS CHIPSET: SIS-645DX GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GEFORCE MX440SE WITH AGP8x RADEON 9000 PCI MEMORY: 2x256MB DDR PC2100 80 GB SEAGATE JLMS DVD-ROM LTD-1665 Anyway thanks for the replies. I am finding running Music making applications like Logic Pro very slow so I was thinking of buying a new computer. I seen a Core 2 Quad 2.4GHZ with 2GB Memory PC for £500. Would that machine make my programmes run faster than my old P4? Rufus T. Firefly
Open 10.4.9 installer package Navigate to System>Library>Extensions. Scroll down until you see System.kext Click Install with permissions (or something of that nature) When prompted to replace files click yes Fix disk permissions with Disk Utility reboot (it might take at least 2 reboots) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64654-problem-opening-dmg-files-on-osx86-v10410/#findComment-460413 Share on other sites

Rufus T. Firefly
You need 10.4.9 installer package and Pacifist for this to work The usual places will have these Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64654-problem-opening-dmg-files-on-osx86-v10410/#findComment-461770 Share on other sites
Artmuzz
I'll not bother. It means downloading another copy of OSX86 which is a massive 4GB and it really isn't worth the effort as even though I have OSX86 up and running on my old P4 machine, it is very slow and I don't get use of my PCI soundcard and second graphics card and I am going to be buying an iMac anyway. Thanks for your help anyway. At the end of the month I am hoping to finally buy my iMac from PC World - by that time OSX Leopard would of been released and boxed with my iMac.
