TTDfreak Posted September 26, 2007 Share Posted September 26, 2007 Hello, I'm a noob here and have been trying hard to search for a fix. However, I can't seem to find one. Here is the scenario. DELL Inspiron 5160 Intel Pentium 4 w/HT at 2.80 GHz 1.28 GB RAM XGI Volari-XP5 (MAX res for built in screen: 1024 x 768 at 32) I am trying to boot from an external USB HD. I followed THIS wiki. I am using OSX 10.4.8 JaS w/SSE2 and SSE3 Intel and AMD. The install went great. However when I try to boot from the USB HD it starts and gets to the grey or white Apple screen where the little spinning thing spins for some time then stops. Then nothing happens.
