John Mahlman IV
Hello gang, I've been a sys admin for a bit now at my university for the digital media lab. We run our own servers with 180 logins using OD. I just updated the server today to 10.4.10 and unfortunately all users were locked out of their accounts after the reboot. After looking a little closer, I fond that if I changed the password of a user with workgroup manager or our web interface the user was able to login again. I took a look at the logs and in the password service server log I found this error: CRAM-MD5 authentication failed, SASL error -13 (password incorrect) I also found that the previous sys admin did a terrible hack job with kerberos and ldap and only has it "half working" in his words. After searching online for a while I came across something that sounds similar to my problem and it might have something to do with kerberos and the password server not syncing properly. Does anyone know what could be cause thing error? Second, does anyone know how I can sync the databases again without having all of the users change their passwords AGAIN? Thanks in advance!
