I have just natively installed OS X Tiger onto my dell Inspiron 5150 laptop, and I'm experiencing a few problems. Does anyone know any fixes for these?

- When I try loading up Disk Utility, the program freezes and just says "Getting Disk Information" forever with the little loading icon.

- When I select "More Info..." from "About this Mac" and click on a subcategory, the computer does the same thing as above

- I can not install applications. When I download an app and it tries to mount it, it just gets stuck on that and eventually gets timed out.

- I can't eject the dvd, by pressing the button; clicking Eject Disk: doesn't do anything.

- I can't change my account setting, the program just freezes.

There are probably many more problems that I have forgotten to mention. Also, I don't think I have a driver for my graphics card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: It turns out that a simple restart fixed most of these problems. However, there still are some.

Were before the restart, my sound device was recognised but worked very badly, slowed down and was continually broken with an "underwater" feel as if my speakers had water in them; it is now not even recognised at all. I think this is a driver problem, but I can't find any drivers for mac.

The about this mac, ejecting disc, disk utility, account settings: pretty much all the problems above.

Also, I only have version 10.4.1

How can I update to a higher version without downloading the entire OS again.
