mlke Posted January 4, 2006 Share Posted January 4, 2006 im presented with the darwin boot menu. when i hit space or whatever, it goes right to a black screen and stays there when i use -v it shows some files processing, then goes to the black screen. i've checked hardware compatibility. Olivier Posted January 6, 2006 Share Posted January 6, 2006 Hey, I do not know this Marklar-Tiger.iso, other people use the 81111 iso, pathed with jas 4.2 (Wich contains all needed patches, like no SSE3) I think it is an old image... Unfortunatelly, Nvidia are actually not supported, and should work in VESA mode, means that you don't have those nice effects, no OpenGL and slow drawing. What can of CPU is it ? Does it have SSE3 ? In my humble opinion, there are some drivers that we need to add... Can Someone help us?? But I read many reports that 10.4.1 was more hardware compatible... Olivier Posted January 7, 2006 Share Posted January 7, 2006 It'a a low compability mode for video, wich allow to display on screen, but has no advanced funcion, like 3D OpenGl acceleration. Maybe, you cannot use high resolution nor high definition. In Mac OS, you need fully supported hardware to use 3D acceleration, and "quartz extreme" effect. More info on Apple site for explaination.
