Beav
My cpu fan tends to go pretty crazy whenever i'm in OS X (it's been quite warm here as well). In windows the AMD "cool n quiet" driver is installed, so it tends to stay off much more often. I've tried using "pmset -a dps 1" to enable dynamically changing the cpu speed, i'm just not sure if it even works. It seems to not go quite as fast or as often with it enabled, but it's hard to tell with this hot weather. Any thoughts? Is this option even supported on x86 hardware? I'm guessing power management features haven't been implemented yet in OS X. That's just a guess though. But it seems even less likely that Apple would implement an AMD feature. Another guess.
