To some, this might sound incredibly stupid, but i am no 'mac genius'. In fact, i am really only familiar with windows. I tried the whole osx86, but my toshiba laptop always failed to install. (Damn x200 chipset!!) So now I have decided to fork over the 1099 and buy myself a well deserved MacBook. However, I dont know what to do. I am under the impression the Leopard will be released this october. So should i wait to buy the laptop? will it come pre-installed on all macbooks at a certain date? If I buy the computer now, will i get Leopard for a extreme discount? I bought the iPhone on iDay, i like the idea of the $100 rebate, which will pay the tax on my new macbook, but now im a little skeptical of jumping to a macbook now.

Any helpful knowledge will be much appreciated...

When we bought an ibook just before Tiger came out the guy at the store gave us a coupon and when tiger came out we just sent it in and got a free upgrade CD. Granted, to restore the computer you need to first reinstall 10.3 then upgrade it, but still, it was a free upgrade. It was about a month before the release when we bought the laptop.

Might as well wait unless you really need it now... save a few hundred bucks in the meantime and grab an upgraded model...

I resently went to the Apple store and asked the guy behind the counter if Apple is giving any discount on Leo when I bought a new iMac with Tiger.....He told me that Apple recently stoped giving coupons or free upgrades!!!

So my advise! Wait to Leopard is released!!!!!
