voggorb
Hi, yesterday I decided to reinstall my hackintosh because it was installed on a 32GB small partition, which was very annoying because my harddrive is 160GB. My system was working almost perfectly with the Jas 10.4.8 which I had updated to 10.4.9. But I wanted to try some new releases, so I downloaded and burned the newest uphuck 10.4.9 from the green demon (v1.4 r3) Booting from the dvd, erasing and repartitioning my HD to 160GB using disk utility, and installing, went fine. Then I pressed restart, ejected the dvd, and tried to boot from harddrive, but it didn't work! The message "Verifying DMI Pool Data..." appeared like it always does, but after that nothing happens. It just hangs. To get to the boot option screen (F8), I have to have the dvd inserted and press F8 before it actually boots from it (F8 doesn't work when dvd isn't inserted). And on the boot option screen, the dvd is the only choice! Next (well I did try reinstalling a couple of times) I downloaded the XXX 10.4.10 disc and burned it. Same thing this time, installation went fine, but osx won't boot. Nothing happens after the "Verifying DMI Pool Data..." message appears. What am I doing wrong??! My setup: Intel P4 prescott 3.0ghz 6600gt agp 1gb ram Abit IS7 Seagate 160GB sata Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63538-stuck-at-verifying-dmi-pool-data/ Share on other sites
fairplay
hi there, i have the same problem. what i do to get around it is put the cd in and change the disk priority to cd rom in the boot menu. then when the computer starts and says press any key to boot from disk, just leave it and it will time out. it will then give you the options of where to boot from, just choose your hdd and it will boot into leopard. strange but i have no idea why it happens. hope this works for you (lol two years too late) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63538-stuck-at-verifying-dmi-pool-data/#findComment-1276664 Share on other sites
