danyl
I'm setting up my third Hackintosh, and the motherboard in it is a little wierd, so I've taken the hard drive (a Seagate Barracuda 7200 300Gb - ST3300831A) and popped it into my everyday works-like-a-charm Hackintosh. On my machine, using my Maxtor 300Gb drive, Adobe CS3 Design Premium (Volume License version) went in fine. Replaced AppleSMBIOS.kext and everything worked great. On the same hardware, using the same OSX Install DVD (uphuck 1.3), the same installation customizations, the same EVERYTHING - but with the Seagate hard drive, Adobe CS3 will not work. Needs to be cracked in order to run without crashing. AppleSMBIOS.kext won't fix it, only the crack will. I'm completely stumped. I don't want to run cracked apps. Any idea what's going on? What exactly is Mazzie doing in the [k] that makes this work, anyway? And why should the hard drive make such a difference? Thanks, danyl Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63519-cs3-crashes-from-one-drive-works-fine-from-another/ Share on other sites
