impactdni
Trying to get everything working here... Installs off of JaS 10.4.8, and Uphuck 1.3/1.4i all produce the same results. I am able to get everything but the Audio to work so far. Default installs of 1.4i (without AppleAzalia patches) give no sound icon. Installs _with_ the AppleAzalia patches produce a sound icon, and information in the Midi mixer/sound mixer, but no actual sound (speakers nor headphones). I've tried adding specific device/vendor IDs to the AppleAzalia.kext, but this doesn't change anything. I've had some interesting problems even trying to identify the device... lspci in linux shows it as an Intel 82801H HD Audio card. Windows shows it as a Realtek ALC883 And a search for Vendor: 11d4, Device: 1984 on google shows it as a SoundMax Audio chipset. This is again, onboard audio on a Thinkpad X61s. Anyone have any thoughts on what to try? (tried most things I could find...) jharleman
Damn. Was searching myself and bumped into your results :-) I am on 10.4.10. So much better with the system (proper ram, etc.), but no power management and no QE/CI :-( Anyways, Intel has integrated the chipset in. Analog devices. Next step was to go here http://www.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/index.php/t25782.html , but I have been chasing video as that's been the most important to me. Let me know if you get it done before me! Good luck. Middleman
Bump, any thoughts? I'd bank on the Realtek settings. Check out my guide here for fixing the Soundmax > http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...amp;hl=soundmax Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/63009-audio-on-thinkpad-x61s/#findComment-473534 Share on other sites
