The Milstead
I've recently installed a Western Digital SATA drive to keep my important files on. Using uphuck's 10.4.9 with the VIA SATA driver, I'm able to read/write to it, but the system will freeze on me if I try to use Disk Utility. Also, in 10.4.8 with the same driver used from the uphuck install DVD, the system will randomly freeze after a few minutes of use. I've got this drive connected to a Lanparty NF4 board. Is this a common problem with SATAs? It's really important that I have this drive connected, as it has all my stuff on it. At least, I'm guessing it's because of the drive, because I've never had this problem until I installed it. The Milstead
Ahhh, never mind. I'm not using my head. NF4...nForce4....therefore, I have to use the nForce4 driver. Everything's working perfectly now! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62754-random-system-freeze-from-sata-drive/#findComment-444452 Share on other sites
