podger Posted September 8, 2007 Share Posted September 8, 2007 Hello all. i am new to trying this and have a couple of questions i am trying this on an old hp d330m computer, its got an sse2 p4 with 512mb of ram and an 865 chipset, i have a spare 40 gig PATA drive which i can partition at will and is the only drive in the system. i have the uphuck 1.3 dvd what partition type should i choose in disk utility? when i use the defaults the install takes longer ( a good sign i believe) it completes and reboots but just leaves me with a flashing cursor upon reboot if i choose an mbr type partition, the install is over very quickly and i get the com.apple.boot.plist not found error. any help will be appreciated, i have googled this and found not much and my forum searches on herehave not yielded much either. thanks in advance Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
podger Posted September 8, 2007 Author Share Posted September 8, 2007 im a step further now i have it booting from my hard drive with a verbose boot, but it hangs on mDNS: adding browse domain local it just freezes there with no activity, my nic is an onboard broadcom 57xx series , and the drivers are not inbuilt to my distribution. any ideas, and once again thanks in advance for any thoughts Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
