JustinTD Posted September 6, 2007 Share Posted September 6, 2007 Ok, here's the system specs: - Acer Aspire 5100-5674 Laptop - AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-53 (1.73ghz) - 2GB DDR2 SODIMM (2x 1GB) - RS480 Host Bridge - ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 - ATI 4379 SATA Controller - Seagate ST9160821AS 160GB SATA Hard Disk Ok, I can get to the install screen fine, but the disk utility does not detect the SATA controller/drive. I have tried JAS 10.4.9 / 10.4.10 with no luck. Has anyone found a solution to this. There are like 30 threads with similiar issues but with sporadic solutions and results, I am looking for a definative answer, has ANYONE gotten this to work, or, had a similair problem and found a workable solution I can try? jamest22 Posted December 1, 2007 Share Posted December 1, 2007 Sorry bud, No support for the ATI chipsets for SATA as of yet! I had the same scenario with my Acer Aspire 5050 - As soon as I put the drive in a SATA-->USB sled (external enclosure) she booted just fine!! (currently running leopard). There's a few people waiting for some ATI support, but we'll see if it arrives. Graphics support is also iffy, but my wifi works, ethernet, sound, everything else!
