sapienz
Hi all, i'm trying to get OSx86 working native, but it doesn't want to run in "normal" mode. Only safe mode key (-x) helps. Now i'm trying to localize the error. Please take look at these peaces of system.log: Starting with "-v" only... axan2006
Do you have an ATI card? If so, delete all ATI kexts in the System/Library/Extensions folder, including the folder NVDRV. Shuddertrix
Do you have an ATI card? If so, delete all ATI kexts in the System/Library/Extensions folder, including the folder NVDRV. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you have an NVIDIA card, remove all the GeForce/NVIDIA kext's too. Apparently, they are only large because they only are "stubs" in the i386 binary part (need more source information on this, i doubt that it's true, haven't checked.) sapienz
I found a solution! I removed ALL kext's without "OSBundleRequired" key in Info.plist Now it's running without -x, of course Next step: I'll put removed kext's back one-by-one to detect a bad one. madtk
Perhaps some-one knows why my system won't boot in normal mode (although it does boot in normal mode using vmware directly mapped to my physical hard drive). It boots perfect in safe mode; after investigating the system.log I cannot exactly determine the error. When booting diagnostically I can read something close to: "RegisterProcess failed (err.268435459)" and a bit later "failed to name Mach port". There are more errors but perhaps someone recognizes the problem from these errors The strange thing is that when I boot from VmWare (directly mapped to my physical harddrive thus not from the Deadmoo's Image) i can boot in normal mode but I do not have to Login Any help would be appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/624-only-safe-boot-works-help/#findComment-4624 Share on other sites
madtk
Figured out myself what was going on, indeed it has something to do with the ' drivers' of your videocard. Try deleting some files or whatever If you have an Intel Grapic set try the tutorial in this thread: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=757 I got it running at 1400 x 1050 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/624-only-safe-boot-works-help/#findComment-4660 Share on other sites
