s_i_l
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to improve the speed at which things like Firefox redraw the screen? For example when I'm doing vertical scrolling, it chugs a little bit; nothing major, almost like I'm viewing it over a fast VNC connection. And I have to admit, i also notice an utterly milisecond delay when typing; but it is noticeable compared to my WinXP machine. Minorish points, but it does make the system "feel" a little slower and I'd love to get this fixed! I'm using JaS 10.4.8 SSE2/SSE3 with a Ti4200 @ 1680x1050. No patches have been installed (except an updated kext for my Intel Pro 100 S); CPU is a 2ghz P4, 1GB DDR Ram I have QE enabled and OpenGL seems to be working too (Flurry & Chess run without a problem). QuartzSimple tells me QE2D isn't supported, and the card doesn't support CI. I tried turning off BeamSync but didn't notice any difference. (as a side point; I was quite surprised when the system not only let me use System Prefs to change my resolution to my desired 1680x1050 but it also identified my L204WT Flatron Widescreen monitor! very happy!) Is there anything I can do, or is this just "the way it is"? cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62320-slow-vertical-scrollingscreen-updates/ Share on other sites
