scott110
I am new here and new to Macs in general so please bear with me. I am trying to get my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro to work on JaS 10.4.8. Installation goes fine but upon booting I see the Apple logo, after which it disappears and there is nothing but a blank grey screen. I have tried installing the Callisto drivers, AGPGart 2.2, etc all to no avail. Any ideas?? Thanks,-Scott EDIT: Okay, got it to work...FYI for anyone having similar issues, when installing from the DVD (JaS 10.4.8), do NOT select all optional hardware driver packages...basically all I did was deselect everything except for the Intel patch and upon reboot it worked. I have QE/CI working, there is a minor issue of mouse artifacts on the screen but really it isn't that noticable. The card is still being detected as PCI though, not AGP...and I tried again with AGPGART 2.2. but that didn't work...so is there any suggestions on that? Thanks,-Scott Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62232-ati-radeon-9800-pro-not-working/ Share on other sites
malefactor
Thanks for this tip. I had a quite similar problem. For me, I didn't have go to such draconian extremes as you, but I did have to be very selective or I got the blank screen.
