Slow Wireless Connection

Hi all,

 

I just installed JaS 10.4.8. Everything is working fine but wireless is so slow, 1/5 speed of what it suppose to be.

 

The Wireless card I have is Encore Super-G 108Mbps, with VenID=168c, DevID=0013. I use that info to change /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros5424.kext as in other posts you can find in the forum.

 

It works, but the speed is too slow comparing to when running Windows XP. Before I installed 10.4.8, I had 10.4.5 running on the same machine at the same location, the speed was good. It's really weird. I suspect it's a software problem. But I tried to use the IO80211Family.kext from 10.4.5, the result is the same slowness.

 

Any idea?
