Greco
Ok guys, I need your help here. First time trying this so be patient with me. I managed to go through the installation without any problems. When it finishes installing, it reboots, goes through the HFS+ loading, it scrolls too damn fast, and then it says 'Starting Darwin.' I presume this is where I will have to do the account creation and finish the install, but it looks like its trying to load the graphics driver, not sure here, but after about 5 seconds it reboots the computer. Don't know what to do next. In case it is the graphics card, its a ATI X700 PCIe card. Thanks guys, I'm stumped and don't want to reload the Winbloze {censored}... phanguy
let's start with: what board do you have? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62039-constant-rebooting-after-driver-loading/#findComment-439715 Share on other sites
Greco
I should have posted that, I'm sorry.. My hardware.. Intel D915PBL motherboard P4 3.4Ghz w/ HT 1Gb 533 RAM ATI x700 PCIe SCSI CD-RW IDE DVD-RW 120Gb HD. I ran through the initial setup on the OS X 10.4.6 DVD, on the reboot where it should be asking me to setup the user accounts, it seems like its trying to load X but then reboots. Thanks for your help. Should I just try Leopard beta instead or is the version of OS X I got not good enough? Thanks guys.. phanguy
http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph..._10.4.8#Intel_2 according to the wiki, 10.4.8 works fine with your board. so try giving that one a shot. i personally have had no experience with uphuck so good luck with that. the x700 isn't on the wiki, but the mobile version of it is. i'm not too knowledgeable about graphics cards, but the wiki says that it had mouse tearing. so if in fact you do managed to get everything installed and there is mouse tearing, then here is what the wiki recommends: "Mousetearing. JaS 10.4.8 used. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=37842 Somewhere round page 6 is the patch, made by ovof!" good luck!
