djstriker91
I've been trying pretty hard for quite a while now to get OS X working, and I'm really just in need of some help from some experts. For one, I've tried vanilla JaS 10.4.8 and go no where. Reboot at logon after restart (Your computer needs to restart screen) I have.. Core 2 Q6600 eVGA 680i 8800GTX x 2 (SLi'd) 4gb of RAM I suspect the Video Card is the problem here but I'm all ears and willing to answer any questions. I've looked up and seen all the problems my various components had and tried the various fixes to no avail. Thanks for the help (: /dj/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62031-need-help-with-os-x/ Share on other sites
BJMoose
Yeah, the support just isn't there yet for the 8xxx series video cards...and you've got two of them. hoyanf
I'd suggest you boot to single user -> "-v -s" -> fsck -fy -> mount -uw / -> mkdir /Backup/10.4.8 -> cp -pfr /System/Library/Extensions /Backup/10.4.8 -> rm -fr /System/Library/Extensions/NVDA* -> rm -fr /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce* -> reboot On boot USE -v (verbose) just incase you come across some other error messages... If still fails try boot with -v -x (it will be in safe mode with graphics and maintain the verbosity) Hope it does the job..
