phonology
hi I just want to know the method for installing a new kernel. over a link from irc I downloaded a zipped file with a "mach_kernel" file and a "system.kext" file. but with these two files i'm stuck now, i don't know what to do with them. sorry if this problem was already dicussed, i found nothing helpful. also i haven't much expierience in using the terminal. by the way: is it possible to install the latest kernel under 10.4.9? i tried to upgrade to 10.4.10, but had no success (koolkal, pascalw, etc....nothing worked, everything resulted in a kernel panic after reboot). only thing that worked is jas 10.4.8 and the jas upgrade package to 10.4.9 (but the kernel in this package seems quiet buggy, so i want to upgrade). my system lenovo 3000 n100 laptop intel core duo 1.66ghz 1 gb ram intel 950 onboard graphic usb soundblaser live (works good under 10.4.8, but under 10.4.9 problems, seems it has something to do with the installed kernel) greetings Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61876-kernel-installation-1049/ Share on other sites
