USB Hard Drive Install

I have a Dell E1705 and am trying to install osx86 on my external hd. I bought a western digital external, 320 gig hard drive.

 

I tried to install osx86 10.4.9 uphuck, and everything seemed to go fine. Uphuck dvd booted up, I partioned my hd into two parts:

 

1) Named it "MAC", 8 gig partion, Mac Extended Journal

2) Named "Documents" 290 gig partion, MS Dos file format

 

Installed osx86 onto the mac partion, everything installed fine. When I reboot my pc, it is unable to boot from the usb drive. I get a short error message saying no bootable selectable partion and then it just goes into vista. I went into my bios and chose to boot from the usb hd first.

 

Any suggestions??
