UK vs US Pricing

In India:

iMac 20" 2.0GHZ - Rs. 62,000 ==> $1590

macBook 2.0Ghz - Rs. 56,000 ==> $1435

It's damn expensive here.... thats sure i'll never buy an Apple unit in India. The import duty are damn high here around 21%

I am a Mac Fan.. but due to these high pricing I am running my OSX on my hackintosh. I would one day love to get a iMac if the price gets justified here in India.

Or, The only option left is buying it from HongKong/Singapore.

Hmm, well complain more...

in norway:

imac 20" 2GHz - NOK 9.990 = USD $1839

macbook 2GHz - NOK 9.290 = USD $1710

that includes the 25% value added tax which is the only levy on a mac

of course importing one is very good deal as the ratio NOK/USD is higher than ever. And I see that even CAD are stronger than USD now.

the downside of importing is missing the special characters on the keyboard and that consumer protections are much better if under norwegian laws
