Hi all,

I have Mac OS X 10.4.6 installed and I want to install 10.4.7 Server onto it.

I have the mac_os_x_server_v10.4.7_universal_build_8k1079 DMG file and the S.N.

I also have the JaS.10.4.7.Update.(Intel).zip (10.4.6 to 10.4.7 intel update) - computer is intel.

Questions are:

Do I update 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 first then install 10.4.7 Server?

Or do I just install 10.4.7 Server over my existing 10.4.6?

Another question is:

How to install 10.4.7 Server?

Thanks.

dw!

i got it

i have 10.4.6

updated 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 using JAS 10.4.7 intel update

then convert the DMG image of 10.4.7 server into read/write

and when thats done, opened it and removed VolumeCheck file out of it.

then opened up the Server install package and the way I go install the Mac OSX Server with SN and all.

Mad

10.4.7 Server here i come!

u can backup your OSX now and give it a go with installing the server packages.

Thats your best bet.

I backup my OS X on another partition using Acronis Disk Director Server on my Windows Server 2003.

It takes 10 mins to restore my OS X backup copy into the partition without playing around with creating a partition and setting it to active mode and all that...

Always have a backup in hand!
