hobbo
Can anyone help me? I can't get any PCI cards recognised. I am running Jas 10.4.8 on an ASUS P5GC-MX mobo, it has the Intel 945GC/ICH7 chip set combo on it. Now I'm guessing that most of the kexts for the 945GZ chip sets should work and that the reason for them not working is down to device id's. But to get my two PCI slots working I have no idea where to start looking. I searched the logs hoping to get a clue from there but nothing seemed to indicate what the problem might be. I have looked at the extensions under SystemProfiler and noticed a lot have unsatisfied dependancies. Also I have captured the output of 'lspci' using Mandriva linux and hav attached it to my post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. KELVIN88
Hmmm.. I'm currently using the Gigabyte Ga945GCMX-s2 6.6.. it uses the 945GC / ICH7 combo.. it seems to work well... The PCI slots dont seem to register.. unless you put a supported device it in... I've tried a firewire card and Netgear Wg311 (1st revision), WG311T, WPN311 all working perfectly... (although PCI is stated as no supporte or cards in system profiler)... Much like my audio... none list in system profiler... but it appears to wrk perfectly... Try a basic firewire card or USB2 card.. to see if it works... hobbo
Hi KELVIN88 Thanks for you're reply. I have tried a cople of different NIC's and one firewire card so far... but no dice :-( I suppose it's possible that it's just my bad luck not to have any supported cards laying around. There is a SCSI card around here somewhere that should be supperted, I can throw it in and see what happens. Like you I get no built in audio from System Profiler but speaker output at least seems to work just fine (haven't tested other channels/input yet)! From what I've read the extension smbios needs to be updated to get System Profiler to work better.
