Invalid Operating System!

Hi,

I did try searching for a solution, but have not come across anything yet. I have a IBM T43, and I have windows xp and Mac OS X 10.4.8 (JaS version) installed.

With the Mac, I have everything working including ethernet and wifi. So my problem is, when I try to boot to the Mac OS, it won't boot. It just shows a black screen that says "invalid operating system!"

If I try to boot to the Mac OS with the 10.4.8 install dvd inside the drive, it boots fine everytime. First off, I have to say I initially installed Acronis OS Selector, but it kept saying "processing please wait", so I just removed it. I'm not using a boot loader yet, If I want to boot to windows xp or vice versa, I just mark the correct partition "active" using the Mac install DVD.

Anyways, has anyone come across this?? Why can I boot to the Mac OS with the dvd but can't without it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.
