Hello, as i wrote on previous topics that i used JaS 10.4.8 and always had good CPU temperature with temperature monitor, it was around 40 C, then updated to 10.4.9, which made me have higher temp of around 60 C, as as 10.4.10.

so i rolled back to 10.4.8 and was back again to the 40s and no fan overwork or high speed.

so it was great till i updated the bios from HP website of my model Pavilion dv6395EA and noticed after that the temperature can reach 70 C and still i cant hear that high fan sound....

so it's either misreading the sensors, or cpu fan not working properly although i can hear it workin as usual when starting the laptop then lowers down as it boots XP or mac.

also i wanna know if mac will detect cpu overheat and would shutdown just like XP would do? also any idea about this problem of the BIOS?

hey so i booted XP, got SPEEDFAN software, and found CPU is almost always on 35 C...and fan is almost not workin just like in mac, but sometimes it works for just few seconds to bring temp down then stops....and im sure that on mac when it was readin 70 there was no remarkable fan sound.

so is it bad reading from mac? or mac is overheating and there's problem in controlling fan?

I have a CTO dv9000t and have similar problems although I haven't booted into xp to test. with iTunes and firefox open it's showing 62C on each core. If I run WoW and exit it gets up to 98C, I have a feeling it's a bad reading, but don't have any good way to test it. Anyone else have any input?
