xp3nd4bl3
Hi guys, I recently got rid of my 680i motherboard and replaced it with a more compatible Intel Bad Axe 2 975XBX2. I'm amazed at how well everything works, and the box is ridiculously fast. My only problem is that OSX sees 1.07 Ghz bus no matter what. The default FSB is 266 which yields a 1067Mhz bus, so the 1.07 Ghz would be correct in that case. The problem is, I'm overclocked to 1333 Mhz. OS X recognized this overclock just fine on my 680i motherboard, but for some reason I can't get OS X to see the right FSB. I tried booting with the switch fsb=333 but it didn't seem to do anything. Am I doing something wrong? Does it really matter that the OS doesn't see the right bus speed? The machine is still crazy-fast. Another question I have is, why does my "About this Mac" show my CPU as a "3GHz Unknown" now? On my last motherboard it said 3 GHz Intel Core2 Quad.
