eskimosound
Hi Guys, I know it's probably my fault but I cant install the OSX 10.4.8 on my PC. I've had a scoot through the forum and the Wiki pages but not really come up with a solution.. The nearest I got was thet it might be my chipset...or hard drive. The error code I get when installing from disk is: SAM Multimedia:READ OR WRITE failed ASC=0x08 ASCQ=0x03 This is repeated over 10x times down the screen........before it really installs, it checks my system and is not happy with it... So my specs are: AMD FX55 (Soon to be AMD FX60) Asus A8N SLI Deluxe 1GB Kingston DDR RAM (PC3200) ATI Radeon X1300 (Soon to be X1950) 80GB Weston Caviar HDD (I think its IDE/SATA but not sure) The mobo haa a nVidia nForce 4 SLI Chipset and I have a feeling this is whats causing the problems either that or the HDD. Or another way of asking the question is which version of the AMD OSX will work with my specs!!! Any help would be appreciated as I am stumped...Totally!!! The error is because of media being bad - and its bad because the image on it was not properly recorded. Use Alcohol 120% or Nero (a trial version would do) and burn the image at a slow speed - 4x or lower. Try uphuck 10.4.9 v1.4a r2 for your AMD...
