HiDDeN80
Ok guys, I've been searching through many posts about the most recommendable motherboard for OSX version 10.4.9 (or 10.4.10 if possible). My needs (and I think the needs of most beginners in hackintosh): - Stability - SATA-2 compatibility - Installation and boot with no problems - Sound (2.1 is enough, I don't need 5.1 or more) - Video (I have an external card: ASUS EN6600 Silencer, with NVidia 6600 chipset) - LAN (100mb/s) I don't care if it will need some tweaks, but it's preferable that it works perfectly without them. Here's the final list: - ASUS P5K-e - ASUS P5LD2 VM DH - ASUS P5K Deluxe - Intel D975XBX2 (BadAxe2) - MSI P35 Platinum - Gigabyte GA-P35-S3L - Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 All of them are successful as I have read from many forum users to get them working. So, the question now is... which one is the best? Please, avoid "future releases" like "that chipset is better but it will be working in a few months", we're talking about current compatibility with the features I mentioned before. I have good feelings about the Gigabyte GA-P35-S3L, what do you think? Of course, I'd prefer a recent chipset (that is, P35 is better than 945 or 965). Your final opinions, guys!! fustyler
I give my thumbs up to the p5k-e. i've overclocked it to 3.3ghz from 2.4ghz last night. Hopefully I can squeeze more out of it after I let it run in a bit more. The only thing that I haven't got to work is wifi. everything else works great. Geekbench gave it a rating of 6669.
