Install OSX 10.4.3 on my Sony Vaio VGN-A317m

I tried to install OSX with patches, without patches and it doesn't work

 

I have the DVD without patches and receive the error Message

Hardware doesn't support by darwin .. Then I patchet the iso

and can't boot

mm install in vmware seems working now .. but during native install (boot from dvd) I receive a kernel panic 19BEB2 message .. Did I forgot something?

- Install in vmware (using a native partition on my laptop)

 

- Install Bootmanager as described in (http://profit42.com/?p=2)

 

Is this a possible way to run OSX natively on my notebook?

I created an iso with JAS included and I can't boot natively .. In VMWARe I can boot but can't install

 

Is there another way to install it on my Sony?

I am surprised that Intel 915PM chipset on the Sony did not result in a successful install, but that could be just the Sony setup. You will need to use something like Acronis True Image to image a previously successful install (eg on a compatible desktop) onto the Sony. This is tricky because either you have to use a laptop IDE adapter or alternatively use another OS (eg. WinXP) to transfer an image on to another partition on the laptop.

Succes!!!!!10.4.3 witth maxxus 1.0 on AMD 64 3500 NoSSE3 NX SSE2 on ASUS a8n deluxe with vmware 5.5 RC2...with acronis i created an image of the installed osX and i put them on my VAIO FS115 notebook and.....voila! osX boots perfectly whats?i dont know!bootable install dvd with maxxus 1.0 doesnt work in my notebook.....misterious :S, the image restored on vaio works much better than 1.0 to someone that dvd fails on native install test this please smile.gif

thanks for your feedback .. but I have only an Athon XP 3000+ System and my Sony .. But I can't install it in vmware ..

 

could somebody give me a detailed explanation what patches are needed?

 

I have the following:

 

- JaS.1111a.Generic.Patch.Final.zip

- macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg

 

I patched the converted iso with Jas Generic Patchset.

 

I read something about MAXX Kernel Patch V4 .. how to include it??

ps: I think a little more positiv .. I'm optimistic now to install OSX .. but it need a little bit time

The patches are probably not your problem. You should post your verbose mode boot up ( -v) and see where the install hangs. Perhaps take a screen shot or copy down the error. The error code might give you a clue what is hanging. You can also try safe mode (-x) and single user mode (-s).

mmh I have no digital camera Do you need e special line from the output?

It seems it was my DVD ROM .. it is broken ...(

 

I tried with the following scenario and installation successed:

 

- Install Daemon Tools and mount the install iso

 

- Using the new drive letter in vmware

 

- Install in VMWARe

 

 

After finish the install in VMWARE I tried to reboot the virtual machine .. but it seems the VM hangs .. I see only the grey boot screen from apple and that's it ..

 

Now I have the following questions (and hope that's it ):

 

- Did I forgot special things for install vmware?

 

- I have one empty partition on my Real Harddisk .. how could I transfer the virtual disk to the empty disk?

 

- Is it necessary to change the partition ID of the real disk ??

 

- Is the boot procedure possible with usually bootloader or is a special bootloader needed ?

Now it seems the vmware works .. I umounted the Iso Image in Daemon tools and I have a Mac Desktop now

 

the only thing is copy the virtual disk to real disk .. but how?

 

is it necessary to register the product during the first startup?

You can isntall directly to a Physical Disk in VMWare.

 

Other alternatives:

-Use ditto to copy all contents from your image to your Physical Disk/partition (but format it first)

 

-Use Carbon Copy Cloner

 

-Use Disk Utility, make an image then restore form the image to the Physical HD.

thanks for your answer and sorry for the delay .. The next days I will have more time to install it :censored2:

 

- Could you explain me how to install it direct on a partition in vmware .. I tried this and can't choose the disk because there is a red circle around the drive (type of partition is set to AF .. can see it in PQ Magic)

 

- I have only 1 disk in my laptop and would use 1 partition for osx .. the virtual disk is like a real disk .. should I image the whole disk or only the partition .. what I mean is how can I transfer a image from a real disk to one partition?
