iMac G3 DV "bad ram" error

Hi guys, how much time I don't post in the main forum! Well, I have to do this because of an old-fashoned iMac G3 DV model.

This Mac has the following specs:

G3 400 mhz processor

10 GB of HD

slot-loading DVD drive

2 firewire/2 usb/56kb modem

I have a major problem with this. I bought it a few days ago and when I tried turning it on, it did an error beep. I searched over the internet for some explanations and I found that one beep means "no RAM installed". So I tried putting in many PC-100 and PC-133 RAMs, but they didn't work. I'm absolutely sure they work on PCs because I just tried it, but when I turn on the iMac I can hear now the three-beeps error, AKA "Bad RAM".

So finally today I put my hands on an original certified Apple RAM, a SAMSUNG KMM366S823CTS-GL 64MB module. I absolutely know it works even with Macs, because it was mounted on a perfectly working iMac G3 350 mhz. But again, when I tried turning on my iMac, it did the "Bad RAM" error.

I also tried resetting the PMU, resetting the PRAM and press the programmer button on the side, but nothing has happened.

What's wrong with this beautiful Mac? Excluding the lack of RAM it "works", turning on and powering/starting up USB devices and the hard-drive, but it doesn't go further.

Is the logic board failed? Or if it isn't, how can I fix it?

the logic board may be bad I have an imac G3 350 and because of its age it may need replacing.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also considering buying a new iMac G3 or a PowerMac, because I lack the skills for replacing such a complex component as the iMac G3 logic board is.

Does anyone know if Apple still has support for this machine, or if I can fix the problem without replacing the whole logic board?
